Writing in English as a Filipino is a postcolonial condition. Rayji de Guia spoke of the tension of rendering the multilingual facets of Filipino womanhood into the neo-colonial, dominant language both in her fiction as well as in her poetry. She read pieces from her writing that demonstrated her multilingual, translational poetics. Rayji also described her practice as a writer.
