Director of Admissions, Outreach and Communications

Designation: Director of Admissions, Outreach and Communications

Reporting to: Chancellor of Sai University

Team: 5 members

Role Summary:

The role holder in close coordination with the Chancellor plan, manage and execute the admissions process from the awareness stage to point of inquiry and enrolment of students in the University. The incumbent will coordinate all internal and external communication activities that achieve awareness and build the brand of Sai University across the country. This would involve comprehensively synergising the strategic, tactical and creative processes to execute Undergraduate and Postgraduate programme admissions through various drives, campaigns, events both physically and digitally, media publications, newsletters, annual reports, website management etc. The above will be delivered by collaboratively working with peer group and external vendors within and outside the University on a variety of initiatives and day-to-day operations developing and executing in a way that is consistent with Sai University’s ethos and strategy. The position offers the opportunity to work with a highly collaborative team with a wide array of responsibilities in a busy, academic environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, guide & implement admissions outreach strategies to increase awareness, build the University’s brand and strong relationships to enroll academically bright students pan India.
     
  • Plan and execute the Admissions & Outreach program, by organizing, participating, and doing follow-up with selective high schools, run campaigns and drives (including but not limited to digital) and carry out communications and business development pan India for the various University Offerings of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programme and ensuring the admissions to these programme, partaking in different Education Fairs, Seminars & Conferences along with Campus Visits, Open Houses, Webinars, Workshops and other outreach events for prospective students and families.

     

  • Drive Special Outreach/Pipeline programs for under-represented students.

     

  • Execute processing of applications to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, implementing merit-based selection process with absolute integrity while delivering an empathetic, responsive student experience.

     

  • Manage the review of applications, including evaluation of components such as academic grades, Statement of Purpose, Personal Interactions and other components of the admissions as defined from time to time.

     

  • Efficiently process applicant data and applications in line with Admissions Policy in a time-bound manner in line with operating procedures and streamlining and upgrading the processing software.

     

  • Drive the communications function in the development of promotional materials (newsletter, presentations, brochures, posters, website, social media announcements, application instructions, videos etc.) that interpret the school to prospective and admitted students, high school educators, parents and the campus community.

     

  • Conduct regular evaluation of the matrices and measure of success for continuous improvement of services, prepare and maintain statistics regarding enrolment, geographical distribution of students, financial aid, outreach efforts and attrition. Interpret & present these statistics, on a regular basis to the management.

  • Driving continuing flow of quality applicants to the university by analyzing trends in enrolment and admissions-related communication activities and presenting new strategies for the university’s admissions and outreach.

     

  • Enhances admissions functions and university reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

     

  • Interpret the University and its offerings to prospective students and their families, primarily through one-on-one discussions while having a thorough understanding of admission policies, university policies, regulations, and degree requirements.

Executive Assistant, Vice Chancellor’s Office

Designation: Executive Assistant, Vice Chancellor’s Office

Level: Senior Executive / Assistant Manager

Reporting to: Vice Chancellor, Sai University

Location: Paiyanur, Chennai

Role Summary:

This is an administration position to manage the office of the Vice Chancellor in collaboration with the other team members of the office, serving as the administrative and strategic liaison between the office and the rest of the constituents of the University. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the planning efforts, the Vice Chancellor’s priorities including but not limited to strategic and operational management initiatives are communicated, well-coordinated, followed-up and timely and effectively implemented.

Responsibilities: 

  • Be an integral Team member of the Vice Chancellor’s Office managing the day-to-day operation of the Office. 
  • Ensures that there is adequate coverage of Office at all times. Relieves the Vice Chancellor of operational and administrative details by planning and coordinating the implementation of academic or administrative policies and decisions while working closely with Dean of Schools, Directors, Faculty and Academic Staff.
  • Exercises initiative and independent judgment in the daily activities of the Office and managing the staff in the offices of the Vice Chancellor.

Role Summary:

The role holder in support of the Registrar will maintain students’ and the University’s academic records, statutory documentation & accreditation activities. This role holder also supports the operation team in managing all aspects of the office’s and University’s operations, including facility management, housekeeping, security, procurement and inventory control, and office administration, in coordination with outside vendors to ensure a seamless and improved employee experience.

The role holder in collaboration with the Controller of Examination (COE) will be engaged in ensuring all arrangements and related actions necessary for holding examinations and organizing the declaration of results as well as the allied activities as per the University norms.

  • To manage the examination calendar and notify the COE in advance

Role Summary:

An artistic and imaginative outlook for creative storytelling through visual images and expressive writing which pleasantly inspires, informs and communicates with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for developing designs for digital (social media, website, emailers, banners, infographics, illustrations) print (brochures, reports, posters), and internal branding solutions.

Assistant Manager/ Manager, Projects

Designation: Assistant Manager/ Manager, Projects

Reporting to: Director, Projects, Sai University

Location: Sai University, Paiyanur, Chennai

Role Summary:

The incumbent must have exposure to and working expertise of large construction projects (residential or commercial building) conception through commissioning. Able to coordinate with various contractors to manage, oversee, and keep an eye on the project’s daily construction management. In collaboration with the Director, Projects to prepare, supervise, execute, inspect, site commissioning and ensure any course correction is appropriately implemented, and properly documented throughout the life of the project including project close-out.

  • To plan, organize and execute the construction-related scope of work and commissioning the facilities on-site in compliance with the approved project schedule and project specifications.

  • Secure all the voids, openings, etc., in the project to avoid accidents 
  • Review and reflect on works that are about to start or going on along with value engineering tips or Kaizen (new ways of doing the work innovatively) that will bring value addition in terms of cost, environment, safety, quality, morale, progress, and delivery.

  • Must have experience in the execution of residential, commercial buildings preferably in structural work (RCC) and the final closure of buildings.

Designation: Assistant Manager/ Manager, Projects

Reporting to: Director, Projects, Sai University

Location: Sai University, Paiyanur, Chennai

Role Summary:

The incumbent must have exposure to and working expertise of large construction projects (residential or commercial building) with special focus on daily construction management in coordination with various contractors for final closure and commissioning of the project. This will include but will not be limited to implementing and executing the construction timelines, any course correction of project specifications, proper documentation for project closure.

Responsibilities: 

  • To execute the construction-related scope of work and commissioning the facilities on-site in compliance with the approved project schedule and project specifications.
  • To coordinate with labour and workers in carrying out tasks at the project site.
  • Estimation of necessary materials, timely materials requisition initiation, timely maintenance of purchase orders, follow-up till delivery, and material management.
  • Monitor and report to the Director, projects the details, including progress, risks and opportunities in a timely manner. 
  • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote a safety culture among the labour before starting the day’s work. Motivate them to maintain the quality of work. 
  • Secure all the voids, openings, etc., in the project to avoid accidents.
  • Review and reflect on works that are about to start or going on along with value engineering tips or Kaizen (new ways of doing the work innovatively) that will bring value addition in terms of cost, environment, safety, quality, morale, progress, and delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Must have experience in the execution of Residential, Commercial Buildings preferably in Structural work (RCC) and the final closure of buildings.
  • Experience in the execution of infrastructures such as STP, WTP, roads, landscapes, drains, etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise to implement.
  • Superior problem-solving ability & negotiation skills for successful outcomes in potentially challenging circumstances.
  • Create awareness and train labour and workers on using safety material and equipment.
