Kalimuthu has 10 Years of experience in therapeutic discovery and has worked across the domain including infections, inflammation and space medicine. Kalimuthu has done Ph.D from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He has received laurels as First rank holder in both U.G, and P.G degree, Research excellence and drug discovery awards from University of California, USA and University of Oxford, UK. He has several publications in the field of healthcare, his notable contribution in reputed journals like JBC, IEEE, Medical Virology..etc.

He began his career with University of California, Davis, USA followed by University of Oxford UK as postdoctoral researcher. Subsequently, he joined SRM Institute of Science Technology, Chennai as Assistant Professor (Research) before joining Sai University. In his career span he has been associated with NASA Space Technology Research Institute, USA and contributed lead role in space medicine discovery.

Kalimuthu has made significant contributions in discovering several therapeutic drugs on addressing emerging infectious and metabolic diseases. He has approved US patent and played significant role in NASA space centre development programme as one of the investigator team.
