Jaisy George
Senior Assistant Professor, School of Law

Dr. Jaisy George brings with her 11 years of experience spanning both academia and litigation. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice Administration from Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, following her LL.M. with specialisations in Criminal Law and Human Rights. Dr. George has several publications to her credit, including work published in Scopus-indexed journals. Some of which are: Unravelling the Exclusionary Rule: A Criminological Analysis of India’s Judicial Discretion and Legislative Ambiguity; Impact of Technology in Investigations: The Judicial Response to Admissibility of Evidence Obtained Technologically; Women Trafficking in India: Unearthing the Key Vulnerability Factors Using Interpretative Structural Modelling; A Probe into the POCSO: A Legislative Comment on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012; Reconceptualising Corruption: On the Touchstone of Human Rights; and a Book Review on Dr. K. I. Vibhute, PSA Pillai’s Criminal Law, LexisNexis, 12th edition 2014, Reprint 2016.

After qualifying the UGC-NET in 2014, Dr. Jaisy George began her teaching career as Assistant Professor at Al-Azhar Law College, Kerala. She later served as Assistant Professor at Symbiosis Law School, Pune—one of India’s premier institutions for legal education—where she was actively involved in teaching, research, and academic coordination. In addition to her academic experience, Dr. George has four years of professional experience in the legal industry, having practiced before the High Court of Kerala and various civil and criminal courts in Ernakulam. She was associated with reputed law firms such as M/s C. Varghese Kuriakose Advocates and M/s Intralegal Lawyers and Consultants, and also worked as a Transactional Lawyer with M/s Fabin Technologies, Kerala. The above reflects her professional and academic background prior to joining Sai University as Senior Assistant Professor.

In her previous roles, Dr. Jaisy George has actively contributed to the academic and institutional development in capacities such as Member, Academic Council; NAAC Co-Ordinator; and Member, IQAC. She has also been engaged in student support initiatives as Chairperson, Students’ Grievance Cell; and as a member of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Remedial Coaching Cell. Additionally, she has served as Programme Co-ordinator for the LL.M. programme and as Co-ordinator of key committees, including the Library Committee and the Human Rights Cell. These experiences have equipped her with well-rounded academic and administrative insights relevant to her role at Sai University.
