WE WANT TO PUT SAIU IN THE GLOBAL MAP: K. V. RAMANI
“Our vision is to be a global university from India; we do not want to be yet another Indian university,” said SaiU’s Chancellor K. V. Ramani, in an interview to BLoC, Business Line on Campus.
Mr. Ramani said that Sai University (SaiU), established in Chennai is all set to start its academic programs in August 2021. While Sai will add to the list of the many private universities in India, the Founder-Chancellor said that SaiU will be in the global map, due to its unique offerings.
In the interview, Mr. Ramani also talks about roping in consultant KPMG to research into the scope, student ratios and also provide a 15-year road map for the project.
Interdisciplinary and flexible learning will be at the core of SaiU’s academic philosophy, says Dr. Jamshed Bharucha, Founding Vice Chancellor, in the interview. Talking about SaiU’s UG programs, Dr. Bharucha sheds light on the ‘design your own major’ option, within liberal arts, sciences, law, commerce and management and engineering disciplines. “Interdisciplinary education has proven to catalyze innovation whilst opening up a plethora of avenues for the students to explore,” says Dr. Bharucha.
