Mahesh Menon was formerly at the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, where he taught research methods and procedure to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He was also the coordinator of the Centre for Child Rights at the University.
Menon worked as a legal officer with the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organisation, where he focused on international legal issues surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict. He was also a visiting faculty at NLSIU, Bangalore, where he taught a course on indigenous people’s rights to postgraduate students. He has practised law in the courts of Cochin, focusing on civil, constitutional, and administrative law.
His current interests are on Children’s rights studies, Human rights & Access to justice.

- Member, Expert Committee Appointed by the High Court of Calcutta to devise guidelines for combating sexual harassment of children in educational institutions.
- Awarded the Gold Medal for the student securing the Highest CGPA, LL.M Batch, 2013, National Law School of India University.
- Awarded the Gold Medal for the student securing the Highest CGPA in the Human Rights Stream, LL.M Batch, 2013, National Law School of India University.
- Recipient of the Linnaeus – Palme Fellowship for researching on the master’s dissertation at KTH, Stockholm, Sweden.
- Awarded the title “Best Junior Advocate” at the “Art of Advocacy All Kerala Moot Court Competition” Conducted by The Bar Council of Kerala, for identifying the best Junior Advocates in the State of Kerala, 2010.
