Sai University School of Law’s Second Endowment Lecture by Senior Advocate Sriram Panchu
Sai University’s School of Law proudly hosted the second lecture in the S. Krishnamurti Endowment Lectures in Law series at The Music Academy, Chennai on April 5, 2024. The Public Lectures initiative aims to promote critical thinking on legal matters and foster engagement with both the legal community and the public. Through these lectures, the law school endeavors to lead conversations, reflections, and exploration of ideas that go beyond traditional legal boundaries.
During the event, Senior Advocate and Mediator Sriram Panchu delivered the second lecture in the S. Krishnamurti Endowment Lecture series on law, focusing on the ‘Doctrine of Judicial Review and Chief Justice John Marshall’. Mr. Panchu shed light on the courts’ authority to review statutes and stressed the importance of India’s constitution as a guiding principle for national life. He highlighted Chief Justice John Marshall’s pivotal role in establishing the court as the guardian and interpreter of the constitution, emphasizing the critical role of judicial review.
