Teaching Assistant/ Teaching Fellow in LCCC, School of Arts and Sciences
Designation: Teaching Assistant/ Teaching Fellow in LCCC, School of Arts and Sciences
Reporting to: Faculty Instructor
Location: Chennai
Role Summary: The Teaching Assistant/Fellow will assist faculty in the teaching and administration of undergraduate courses in LCCC, primarily the undergraduate foundation course ‘Writing and Communication’, during the Aug-Dec’24 semester. The work will include design of syllabi, preparation of pedagogic material, conducting discussion sessions and holding office hours with students, grading quizzes and assignments, managing the Learning Management System (LMS) for the courses and liaising with support staff for IT resources and classroom management.
Qualification: Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Literature, Culture Studies, Communication or related fields. Scholars pursuing their PhDs are also encouraged to apply. Prior teaching experience would be an added advantage.

Teaching Assistant/Teaching Fellow, School of Arts and Sciences

Role Summary:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) or Teaching Fellow (TF) will assist the Faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences with the instruction and administration of courses in the undergraduate foundation curriculum. Depending on the candidate’s intellectual background and interests, these courses may include Global Challenges, Critical Thinking, Frontiers in Arts and Sciences, and Writing and Communications.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting students with assignments, deadlines, team learning activities, preparation for assessments, and access to learning materials
- Fostering cohesion and active participation by students in the classroom
- Holding discussion sessions and office hours to reinforce course material
- Maintaining student academic records and working with faculty to collect and distribute student assignments, assessments, grades, and feedback
- Collecting data and preparing reports on student achievement, grade assignments and feedback to share with Dean and faculty
- Managing course Learning Management System (LMS) and supporting logistical needs of faculty for in-person and online learning
- Communicating, updating and recording course syllabus, assignments, and materials
- Encouraging student participation by recommending individualized academic support, e.g., for absentee or underachieving students
- Supporting students to uphold a high standard of academic integrity and referring instances of academic dishonesty to faculty
- Supporting student internship opportunities with guest lecturers and partners

Qualification:

Qualification:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Computing and Data Science or relevant field
- Professional experience in higher education or an equivalent position in the private sector
- Broad understanding of subdisciplines and topics in Computing and Data Science including programming languages (e.g. Python), artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science (e.g., R), blockchain, search engine algorithms, etc.
Teaching Assistant/Teaching Fellow, School of Computing and Data Science (Robotics and embedded systems)

Role Summary:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) or Teaching Fellow (TF) will assist the Faculty in the School of Computing and Data Science with the instruction and administration of courses in the core curriculum for the BTech course specific to robotics and embedded systems course. The TA/TF will also be involved in managing the robotics lab.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Setting up and maintaining the Robotics lab including inventory management, liaising with vendors, and projecting requirements for student projects.
- Setting up software environments and actively initiating use of new software tools and training in such tools.
- Be a resource person for courses in Embedded systems and Robotics assisting students with their projects, supporting and guiding in the project implementations.
- Managing course Learning Management System (LMS) and supporting logistical needs of faculty for in-person and online learning
- Communicating, updating and recording course syllabus, assignments, and materials

Qualification:
- B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech (Computer Science/IT/Electrical/Mechanical) with exposure to Embedded Systems and Robotics. Programming skills in C/C++/Python/Lua are mandatory.
- Experience with Robotic platforms and design tools Coreldraw/CAD/Blender is preferred.
- Familiarity with robotics simulation platforms coppeliaSIM/ ROS-gazebo and exposure to Image processing, Machine learning would be added advantages.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF), School of Arts and Sciences (Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Environmental Biotechnology)

Reporting to: Professor. Toleti Subba Rao
Location: Chennai
Role Summary:
The JRFs will be working in the area of advanced life science applications in the context of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Environmental Biotechnology.

Responsibilities:
The selected JRFs will be responsible for:
- Research: The incumbent to carry out the research work in the given area.
- Teaching: The incumbent will be responsible to teach the under graduate students of the required course work.
Laboratory: To organize the laboratory experiments and also to maintain the biology laboratory clean and neat following all the safety precautions.
