Sai University Convocation 2025
In a momentous occasion, Sai University, Chennai’s premier international institution offering an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary educational approach, hosted its Convocation ceremony on 5th February 2025. The event was graced by the esteemed Padma Vibhushan Shri N. R. Narayana Murthy, Founder and Former Chairperson of Infosys, who served as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony also recognized excellence in academic performance, with 10 special awards presented to students who achieved top rankings on the Dean’s List and Rank’s List across various courses.
Among the highlights of the day was the conferral of Honorary Doctorates (Honoris Causa) to three distinguished individuals for their exemplary contributions to society:
• Padma Vibhushan Shri N. R. Narayana Murthy
• Justice Shri B. N. Srikrishna, Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India
• Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Anubha Singh, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Sai University. In his address, Mr. K.V. Ramani, Founder and Chancellor of Sai University, emphasized the institution’s commitment to liberal education and the integration of multiple disciplines. He stated, “Our colloquium model of teaching, supported by the Socratic method, equips students to grasp challenging concepts while fostering a dynamic learning environment.”
Mr. Ramani praised Mr. Narayana Murthy for his unwavering support and inspiration to the university, highlighting his role as a visionary leader who exemplifies dedication and integrity.

In an exciting announcement, Sai University revealed plans to launch four new schools in the upcoming academic year 2025-26, which include:
• School of Technology
• School of Business
• School of Media
• School of Artificial Intelligence
These additions will complement the existing School of Arts and Sciences, School of Law, and School of Computer and Data Sciences, enriching the university’s diverse academic offerings.
The ceremony was also attended by notable figures, including Padma Shri T. V. Mohandas Pai, Dr. Suneeta Reddy, Dr. Debashis Chatterjee, and Padma Vibhushan Honourable Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah. The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. T.S. Gopi Rethinarj, Controller of Examinations at Sai University.
