Could the study of robotics and embedded systems be key to your future career?

Sai University aims to build an exceptional robotics lab with outstanding facilities. We have kickstarted the initiative by setting up a state-of-the-art lab to learn robotics through a diverse range of EduBots procured from one of the top robotics companies in India.

Robotics is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary subject that comprises complex maths, advanced programming, aesthetic designing, and top-notch engineering. Learning by doing and doing by learning is our core mantra. Microcontroller programming and embedded systems are the core areas of the robotics learning initiative of Sai University.

Initially, the students will learn the fundamentals of robotics, including motion and control, sensing, and actuation smartly and effectively. They will also learn the principles and practices in robotics and embedded systems through both theory-based studies and hands-on experience. In other words, the classes involve both theories and hands-on training, including building robots that embody the basics of robotics.

We have embraced a unique hands-on lab-based teaching and learning method. This one-of-a-kind educational approach bridges the gap between learning theories and applying them as part of the hands-on practice. From user research to ideation, designing, and prototyping, our robotics curriculum comprises several leading-by-doing steps to finding long-term robotics-based solutions for some of the pressing real-world problems.

The critical areas where we intend to do innovative robotics-based projects with our students include energy management, traffic management, and waste management. Every robotic prototype created will be cost, energy, and financially efficient. In other words, efficiency, scalability, and sustainability are the main goals we intend to attain while carrying out the projects. We also aim to help students hone their design-thinking and problem-solving skills by learning how to put abstract concepts into practice.

SaiU robotics classes focus on theoretical and applied aspects of the design, development, and analysis of robotics systems. Unlike other universities, SaiU has not set any prerequisites to choose robotics as an elective for the undergraduate programs we offer. In other words, both the arts and sciences students can learn robotics as part of their undergraduate programs. In addition to increasing their curiosity and enthusiasm for technology and robotics, we will teach them some of the must-needed life skills, including project proposal creation, presentation, and teamwork.

Robotics is intriguing and futuristic. It is gaining rapid momentum across the world. Here are some of the skills students can learn by choosing robotics as part of their university education:

  • Self-confidence
  • Designing
  • Programming
  • Technical and collaborative skills
  • Knowledge of technical applications
  • Numeracy
  • Digital literacy
  • Creativity
  • Holistic Problem-solving skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Innovative and futuristic approaches
  • Presentation
  • Research and evaluation
  • Effective and engaging communication
  • Teamwork
  • Project management

The aim of having robotics as part of our undergraduate program is simple. We intend to help our students design robotic tools that solve real-world problems by combining technology, design, and logic and make the most of human-robot collaborations. Moreover, the increasing number of rewarding opportunities is undoubtedly another relevant reason for our students to learn robotics.
