Justice G Raghuram
Hon. Justice Goda Raghuram (retd.), a recognised expert in constitutional law, represented the State of Andhra Pradesh in the interstate water disputes case relating to the Krishna river, in the Supreme Court of India. He assumed charge as the director, National Judicial Academy in August 2016 and continues to serve in this capacity.
Justice Raghuram enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1979 and joined the Chamber of Shri V. Venkataramanaiah, former Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh. He soon acquired considerable practice in various fields and specialised in constitutional law and service matters. In recognition of his eminence, he was designated as a senior advocate by the High Court of Andhra Pradesh in 1995.
During his stint as a senior advocate, Justice Raghuram appeared for various bodies and institutions including the Government of India, the State of Andhra Pradesh, the Central University in Hyderabad, the Osmania and Kakatiya Universities and various banks including the State Bank of India. Justice Raghuram was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh in May 1999 and was confirmed as a judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh in April, 2000. He also served as the President of the Central Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal from 2013 for a period of three years.
