Samudyata Sreenath

Samudyata Sreenath is an anthropologist with over 5 years of experience in Indian legal education. She holds a BA.LLB (Hons) from O.P. Jindal Global University and an MSc in Social Anthropology from
the University of Oxford. Drawing from her interdisciplinary background in both law and anthropology, her work explores the intersections of law and culture, the state and social structures, and systems of belief and collective political imaginations.
Samudyata’s current research centres on critical pedagogy, with a focus on how education can foster democratic values and inclusive thinking. In particular, she investigates the impact of diverse political ideologies, especially those challenging democratic values, on the educational experiences of students in Indian higher education. Her work examines how political ideologies are transmitted within families and how they influence students’ learning experiences in the classroom. Her previous research explored the symbolism used in Indian political rhetoric and the meanings invoked to mobilize large, diverse sections of the Indian population.
Samudyata began her career with O.P. Jindal Global University. Subsequently, she worked with Dayananda Sagar University in Bangalore, where she played a key role in developing the curriculum for their new law school. Following this, she taught at Vinayaka Mission’s Law School in Chennai. In her role at Sai University, Samudyata will be responsible for teaching law and interdisciplinary courses. She also offers a foundations course on Science, Technology, and Society (STS).
