Sai University (SaiU) is a new private global university in Chennai that aims to integrate the three fundamental pillars of education – learning, research and societal impact. Sai University is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary institute of higher education established to impart world-class education in liberal arts and sciences, technology, law, and other disciplines. Located at Paiyanur, the 106-acre net-zero campus has been designed maintaining a balance between modern aesthetic and cultural heritage.

SaiU is founded and promoted by Mr. K. V. Ramani, a successful Chennai-based telecom software entrepreneur and the founding trustee of the Shirdi Sai Trust, and is promoted by Sai Education, Medical, Research and Charitable Trust. Mr. Ramani, co-founder of NASSCOM (the National Association of Software and Service Companies), is one of the pioneers who led the efforts to bring India’s information technology sector to global prominence.

To propel the vision of Sai University to become an outstanding global university, Dr. Jamshed Bharucha has been appointed Founding Vice Chancellor. Dr. Jamshed Bharucha has done extensive research on cognitive psychology and neuroscience. He was previously the Provost & Senior Vice President, Tufts University; Dean of the School of Arts & Science, Dartmouth College; Fellow, Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioural Sciences, Stanford University and Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, Stanford University, and Carnegie-Mellon University.
